The Dallas Branch International Dyslexia Association maintains a list of qualified tutors for reading, spelling, and writing remediation. Individuals are eligible to be part of the list if they are able to fulfill the criteria required through The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI), an affiliate of the International Dyslexia Association.

CERI issues certifications to those who possess the knowledge and skill necessary to implement Structured Literacy practices.

Select CERI certifications are awarded only to those educators who have demonstrated the ability to have a meaningful impact on the rate of improvement for students identified as "at risk" for reading failure or identified with a Specific Learning Disability, including dyslexia.

Recommended Programs

Orton-Gillingham of Texas

Accredited by The International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) at the Teacher and Instructor-of-teachers levels. The mission of IMSLEC is to accredit quality training courses for the professional preparation of multisensory structured language education specialist.

Orton-Gillingham Reading Specialists

This training is appropriate for anyone teaching students at reading levels pre-reading—8th grade. Instruction includes the theory and practical components needed to implement the Orton Gillingham approach with a high degree of fidelity. All coursework and direct supervision align with the revised 2018 IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards.

The Reading Center/Dyslexia Institute

The Orton-Gillingham approach, as taught by highly qualified Reading Center instructors, employs comprehensive, proven reading instruction with an intensive practicum to prepare the learner for immediate use with students.
