About Our Scholarship Program
The Dallas Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (DBIDA) offers scholarships to individuals diagnosed with dyslexia or related reading differences who require specialized intervention but face financial barriers to accessing these services.
Our scholarship program provides financial assistance for multisensory structured literacy therapy, which is crucial for developing reading skills in individuals with dyslexia. These interventions, when properly implemented, can significantly improve reading outcomes and academic success.
Scholarships are awarded twice yearly based on financial need, severity of reading difficulties, and the potential impact of the intervention. Our goal is to make effective reading therapy accessible to those who would otherwise be unable to afford these vital services.
Scholarship Terms
- Scholarships are awarded for a one-year period
- Renewal applications are accepted for continued support
- Payment is made directly to the approved therapist
Key Considerations
- Award amounts vary based on need and available funding
- Fees exceeding the scholarship amount are the applicant's responsibility
- DBIDA guidelines are subject to change at the board's discretion
